TOONday #1 - 10 Years From Now

Hello ScoFans!

I've been thinking about bringing my cartoon days back from the dead. I had to kill them off when they got more MySpace friends than I did, but I'm not a jealous person, I don't hold a grudge, so 4 years later I'm now willing to look past that.

My drawing may not be as awesome as Ed's Stickman, I mean, his is animated and all where as I like to think of mine as more like a comic strip (which means he draws heaps of frames for the guy to take one step, whereas I draw a few cells and call it a day), but nonetheless, I feel that I need to get these weird looking blobs out of my system (and the bran wasn't working)

So when B-Dub tagged me to do a thing about where I'll be 10 years from now, I thought this sound like a great drawing project.. primary school style. Enjoy.

I won't tag anyone in particular, but if you want to play along head over to Alissa's as she has turned this tag thing into a project of sorts and sharing all the links over at her blog.

Anyway I should go now because my nose is getting cold so I'm going to hop in bed. I don't know how that will make my nose warmer unless I sleep with the pillow over my face, but I've read that's pretty dangerous.

ScoMan's second day of giving

Hello ScoFans!

Well, it's ScoMan's second day of the giving season and today I'm giving away this little treat.

Just as well I got it in now because in 10 days that baby goes out of date.

This one was given to me by the girls over at Life Laugh Latte. They do a lot of fun vlogs about.. well just about life in general. The different little things that make it up and that you have to take the time to enjoy. The few of you who don't already follow them, head over and give them a look.

This one didn't come with any rules but Sameera tagged me to tell 7 truths about myself. Things that nobody knows. Well, that's hard, but I'll try anyway.

1- This is one that some of you would have seen and assumed, but now I'm going to make it certain in your minds and share it with the rest of my readers.

I think this is funny. Nobody else agrees.

When you're playing "Words with Friends" on your iPhone and you put in the word "Quo", the game tells you that's not a real word. But without "Quo", then the status quo wouldn't exist, and if we don't' have the status quo, what do we have?

2- I just watched "The Middle" for the first time. The tag said nothing about being interesting, it just said I had to tell truths about me that nobody knows. Nobody knew that.

3- It makes me sick when people don't shave properly and there's just one random hair out on it's own. I just.. stare at it.. and my stomach gets all funny.

4- I hate it when people whistle. The sound just drives me crazy. And really, what does it achieve? What is it's purpose? If you're whistling along with a song then whatever, but to just whistle for no reason? Seriously, shut up.

5- I planned on seeing The Dark Knight until Heath Ledger died. Then I boycotted it because I hated all the people who saw it just because Heath Ledger died, and there was the big fuss about it.

6- I'm only doing these awards and tags because I have no motivation to write much else

7- I usually leave anything with "TMI Thursday" in the heading sitting in my reader until I've read everything else. Not because I'm saving the best for last.

Anyway, time to pass this award on to some people who can choose whether or not they want to do the 7 truths..

Two Facebook Friends
And an American Girl in Australia

Until tomorrow (Assuming I can keep up this pace)

Tagged! v 4.2

Hello ScoFans!

I'm still catching up on these tagged things. I'll get through them all eventually!

Today's tagging comes from ChinkyMel's corner and happened on the 11th of April. I hadn't forgotten though! And here's what I have to do today.

1. Mention the person who nominated you. (done! How efficient am I?!)
2. List 6 unimportant things that make you happy.
3. Tag 6 blogs, state the rules, and notify them with a teeny comment on their blog.

Okay, so 6 unimportant things that make me happy...

1. Even numbers! The volume on the TV, the volume on the CD player.. it all has to be even numbers! Once after I broke a cup I threw out a second one just so I had 4 left instead of 5. Five cups in the cupboard just wouldn't happen in my world (unless I owned 6 and one was in use)

2. Walking. People walk every day. From the bed to the bathroom. From the bathroom to the living room. From the living room to the kitchen. Why is walking so important? I don't know. But I walk over an hour a day most days. I think I just love to get the iPod cranking and get out there.

3. Post it notes. I know, very cliche for someone who works in an office to enjoy a good post it note, but those little yellow squares of paper make my life so much easier. I can throw jobs all over the floor with those notes on them informing me where the file was up to so I don't have to rely on my memory.

4. Tax. Tax is what I do, and I like to do it well. I look at my boss and how he can remember a case that happened in 1962 and wonder if I'll ever be able to retain that sort of information like he can. If I learn a trivial little thing about the tax system and it sticks with me, I'm happy.

5. My Vault Boy bobblehead. He has been my face on the bloggosphere for 92 posts now. If not for the bobblehead, I might not have lured any of you here.

6. This picture...

I told you Random Hiccups, the ninjas were coming!

So now, instead of tagging six people, I will "invite" six bloggers to share six unimportant things that make them happy. I'm going to pick six blogs I started following recently, to learn more about the bloggers behind the blogs.

So, the girl in the stiletto, dirty messy beauty, rambles, Sarahahaha!! and Daisy the (get ready for an unfortunate abbreviation I have discovered.. sorry Daisy =p) VAG in A (which stands for Very American Girl in Australia)(should I really have had my tongue out that close to "vagina"? I don't know. Probably not.)

What? That was only five? Well, I invite anyone else who wants to do this one as well.

For those of you playing at home, I believe it is now "vagina" tagged twice, and "dead penis" tagged once.

Anyway, I still have a tag to catch up on. And an award. But I might put them on hold again next time. I mean, I'm sure you want to hear about what I've been up to, right? Do you want to hear about my very romantic proposal? (Could I be engaged? Wouldn't you like to know that?) Would you like to hear about the funny story from work last week? Of course you would.

So, vote on this weeks poll, and I will reward you with one of those tales (the most popular one requested in the comment box. The other one will come later anyway)

By the way, as mentioned earlier this is my 92nd post. I know, right? Anyway, I have something spectacular planned for post 100. Something that will make every other 100th post look like a n00bs first post (sorry to anyone who has done their 100th post.. but you'll see what I mean)

I will also ask you all in my 99th post to pick your favourite entries of mine, and the top five will earn a permanent link somewhere over there ==> and from the 95th post on I'll link back to older posts people may have missed. If anyone has a favourite post that happened awhile ago they'd like me to link back to, I'd appreciate the suggestions =D

Tagged! v 5.0

Hello ScoFans!

It's been awhile, but I've been tagged again. A few times actually, I really need to blog more often so that I can keep up with these things.

Well, as I'm sure you all know, I ooze style and flair.. what? You didn't know that? Well.. did you ove.. no? You didn't either? Did anybody know that?..... No. Okay. I thought I made that clear that time I.. I didn't? Hmm.. this is awkward. Let's move along than shall we?

Sarahahaha!! tagged me because she wanted to know my interior design style.

After looking up what "interior design" means on Wikipedia, I quickly set about the task, searching through the images provided by Google, and I think this is the design I really like.. (I believe it's a style referred to as "minimalist")

Sure it's nothing like the place I live in now. It's probably nothing like any place I will ever live in. But I think I could be really comfortable there. The thing I think that won me over with that one is the cosy little reading area.

However, Stephanie had other ideas for what my perfect home might contain. She might just know me better than I know myself. Or at least she's far wittier than I.

So that has inspired a poll. Let's see which one YOU think suits me more.

And before I leave you today, but special request I have another story from the Comedy Festival. This is one you can all use if you want to scare your children away from sex or drugs.

Again, this one comes from Adam Hills who was telling us something he learned during a gig in Scotland. There was a woman near the front of the audience who worked for the morgue or the police or somebody, and had to determine cause of death for whoever it is she worked for.

Adam asked the question "You must have seen some pretty disgusting things in your time. Why don't you tell us the one that really sticks in your mind?" (That is the warning for anyone with a weak stomach to quietly excuse themselves)

This is her story...

She went to a home at the request of her department to try and work out the cause of death of a young couple. It didn't take long for them to work out what had killed the young man.

He was a junkie. Years of drug abuse and injections had left most of his veins pretty much shot, so he had one day, decided to inject heroin into a vein in his penis. His penis didn't like that so much, it became infected. Over a period of days, it blackened, it withered up and it died. And then, so did he.

Mystery one solved. But what of the junkie's girlfriend?

She had stopped taking drugs quite some time earlier. There were no track marks on her. The poison that got him had not got her.

Or had it?

It wasn't until they searched her stomach contents and found the tip of her partners dead penis, that they realised the infection had got her as well.

There you go Hillbilly Duhn! One story to scare the kids straight!

Oh, and I think I was supposed to tag some people to do the interior design thing as well, so I'll throw down a few people I think will have fun with it but leave it open to anyone who wants to give it a shot.

Tagged v 4.1

I was recently Tagged by ChinkyGirLMeL of "ChinkyMel's corner" and this time I had to find out what kind of fruit I am. I happened to get a fruit I'm not very fond of (and I do like a lot of fruits)

Anyway, here's my result...

You Are a Pear
You are independent, intelligent, and a free thinker.
You can accomplish great things, especially when you do them on your own.

You are direct, honest, and sometimes even a bit brutal.
There's not much that gets in the way of you and your ambition.

While you are hard nosed, you do have a much sweeter side to you.
It takes times for you to soften toward someone, but once you do, you'll be their friend for life.

I think that's pretty accurate. I also always thought of the pear as the more intelligent and free thinking of the fruits, even if they can be brutal and hard nosed.

This time I'm tagging...

Badriyyah
Thrice (this time you HAVE to consider yourself tagged)

And anyone else who wants to have some fun with this!

Tagged! v 4.0

Yes, it's been a few months but I have been tagged again. This time by one of my newest pets, ChinkyGirLMeL from ChinkyMel's Corner.

What I am required to do is unleash 25 truths about myself. On top of the 10 yesterday, that makes 35 truths in two days. That is 17.5 truths each day. If this continues, by this time next year I will have told 6,387.5 truths, and I don't think I have that many.

Anyway, I am putting my own twist on this and giving my truths in a variety of different methods.

FACEBOOK STATUS'S
Facebook status's must have been true at one point or another. I will work through my last five starting with the current and going backwards. These will be my first five truths.
1. is waiting for Mr Turnbull to take away his $950. Why doesn't the single white man with no children ever get any breaks?
2. is loving K Rudd right now (if you gave me $950 I'd love you too).
3. is sweating like a pig.. not to mention looking like a pig, eating like a pig. And don't forget the smell.
4. crack corn and he is great! Take that you stupid corn!
5. is your friendly neighbourhood atheist.

THE iPOD
The next five will be the first five songs I hear on the iPod when I put it on shuffle.
1. Tool - Disgustipated
2. Tool - Jerk Off
3. Metallica- Astronomy
4. Tomahawk- Laredo
5. Puscifer- Momma Sed

THE TV VIEWING
A list of five TV shows I watch, one for each weeknight
1. The Big Bang Theory
2. Two and a Half Men
3. Criminal Minds
4. Dexter
5. The Simpsons

THE COUNTRY
Five things about my corner down under. This one will be pictures and video I think. Just to make it fun.

1- Yup, that's a real koala. A family put out water for him when he fell out of his tree due to the heat. He drank a little then bathed in it.

2 -Referees, security personnel and would be heroes with their flares from all around the world beware- attend a sports event in Australia and you will be, at some point, a wanker.

3 A real spider eating a real bird. Taken some time late last year.

4 Some scenery from just outside my town.

5 Our Prime Minister, and what I'm pretty sure are X-Ray specs.

FIVE RANDOM FACTS
Just five random facts about my life as they pop into my head.
1- I sleep on the diagonal
2- My boss is back in the country next week after being overseas since Christmas
3- I finised the book "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" today. It took me three days to read, and if I didn't have to work I probably would have read it in one.
4- I can do incredible things with beetroot, rissoles, bread, cheese, lettuce, potatoes and a "George Foreman" grill
5- Every Easter I spend two nights at the "Melbourne International Comedy Festival"

There you go. Twenty five more truths (of sorts)

I'm supposed to tag 25 people now, but my list of Blogs I follow doesn't add up to 25.. so tag! You're all it! And you don't have to do it the way I did, it just has to be 25 Truths.

Someone told me once that there's a right and wrong
Punishment was due for those who dared to cross the line but
It must not, be true
For jerk off's just like you
Maybe it
Takes longer
To catch a
Total asshole
I'm tired of waiting

Tagged! v 3.0

I have been tagged by Random Hiccups in her blog "Slave to the Ordinary" Give it a read. It will make you smile.

Half of her questions seemed to me missing, and whilst I was confused at first I did manage to find the rest of them. Not only do I see this as a chance for people to learn a little about me, some of the questions do lend themselves to an opportunity to back up my "Honorary Ovaries" post. Let's see how I do.

1. What is your funniest childhood story?

The first one that comes to mind is when I was about 4, I had a brother who was 2 and a newborn brother. One day, mum left baby brother on her bed while she went outside to hang the washing.

When she came back inside, baby was on the floor and me and 2 year old were casually playing, and when asked how baby got there we innocently replied "He did that by himself"

2. What would your dream dress look like if you could design it?

Classy. Elegant. Nothing above the knee, nothing too low cut. A single colour, like an orange, a yellow or a nice light blue. Nothing with frills.

3. What weird habit does your hubby have?

I have no hubby. I have no wifey. I have no roomy. Looks like I'll have to dish up one of my own weird habits. I know I've used it before but I'm going to have to go back to sniffing my socks after I take them off. I think that's weird enough to get another mention.

4. How many cookbooks are in your kitchen?

None. I work from handwritten recipes on crinkled bits of paper.

5. Granny panties or loyal Victoria Secret girl?

I'm all for comfort.

6. My favorite memory from 2008 so far is?

It would have to be my neice giving up her precious piece of wrapping paper for me to protect at her birthday, closely followed by a discussion I had with one of my clients a few months back.

This coming weekend may just top them both.

7. I secretly...

wish certain people were not in my life.

8. I could really go for...

a question about sport or something after that "dress" one. And then the granny panties question. I know I'm not a manly man sort, but I think just in the interests of balance it would have been nice.

9. We are going to have a big snowstorm and you will find me...

digging though my wardrobe looking for warmer clothes and cursing climate change for finally bringing snow to Australia.

10. I knew he was the one...

there is no he. There is no one. I realised I was going to spend my life alone when I was talking to this girl once and she was asking about what I wanted and I told her right now, I wanted nothing, just to be alone and she was like "Oh yeah, my friend is asexual too"
Before that I thought I was a freak. The way she said it so casually just made it seem so normal. Acceptable.

Now I tag three people to answer these same questions. I doubt there'll be many surprises here...

Tagged! Version 1.01

D* has tagged me at her blog "I'm having a moment"

Here’s the rules for this tagyoureitgame:

1) Each player starts with eight random fact/habits about themselves.
2) People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3) At the end of your blog post, you need to tag eight people and list their names.
Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’ve been tagged and to read your blog.
4) If you have already been tagged and do not wish to go through the exercise then let the taggee know
.

1 - I have a tendency to sniff my socks after removing them. Why? I don't know, I guess my feet just smell that nice.
2 - I like even numbers. The volume on my TV or my CD player must always be an even number.
3 - I have not shampooed my hair in over a year. When I did it was greasy and oily. Now it is nice.
4 - I have problems with my right knee from time to time due to an old sports related injury. That sport was totem tennis.
5 - The last time I got teary was April 2005. It was the day I moved out of home and it was when I was on the phone to mum that night. I can't remember the last time I really cried.
6 - The last time I threw up was November 2001.
7 - My favorite high school teacher taught me in year 7 Indonesian and year 9 English. His name was Mr Hutchinson.
8 - I didn't know what accounting was until my parents told me to take the subject in year 11, and now that's what I do for a living.

You wanted random, and I feel that is what I have delivered.

Now I tag...

3. Good sense of humor + talkative = perfect client
4. Ipod + walking = perfect way to get around town
5. Niece + smiling = perfect way to spend my birthday
6. Ham + pineapple = perfect topping for a pizza
7. "Dead Like Me" DVD + Bacon & Eggs = perfect way to start the day

Tagged! v 1.0

I have been tagged by the delicious D* and now must complete this survey thing. Enjoy!

1. Were you named after anyone?
Nope, I'm not living in anyone's shadow. But one day, I'll bet there's plenty of little ones named after me.

2. Do you still have your tonsils?
Last time I checked, yes.

3. Would you bungee jump?
I think I would, if someone else arranged it for me, paid for it and transported me there. It's not fear that's holding me back, it's laziness.

4. What is your favorite cereal?
I'm not really a cereal kind of guy, but when I do eat cereal because I have plenty of milk left and 2 days before it expires then it's Weet Bix.

5. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
Yes, my feet are far too fat not to. But when I do get out of them, I leave throw them haphazardly on the floor.

6. What is your favorite ice cream?
Chocolate. Or mint-chocolate. Or if I go to Cold Rock, Vanilla, with nothing in it. They remember me there, and they love me there. But then, people love me wherever I go.

7. What is the first thing you notice about people?
I can't say I notice anything in particular.

8. What is your least favorite thing about yourself?
I'm under appreciated.

9. What was the last thing you ate?
A museli bar, my usual after work snack. Who doesn't love routine?

10. What are you listening to right now?
Rain. There's nothing like sitting in the quiet listening to the rain on the roof.

11. Last movie you watched?
"A Little Trip to Heaven" I think it was called. Not the kind of movie I would normally go for but my brother leant it to me and insisted I watch it. It wasn't half bad actually.

12. What did you dream about last night?
Last night? I don't remember. A recent dream I've had however is one of the guys from work was leaving to start business across the road (which is actually train tracks, but in my dream there were businesses there) and he was offering me shitloads more to come and work for him, and I was faced with the dilemma of being loyal to my boss or taking the money.

I'm a Scorpio. I stayed put.

13. What book are you reading?
"The Lizard's Bite" It's ok except it's set in Italy so everyone has weird ass names and I can't remembere who is who.

14. Summer or winter?
Winter. Summer sucks.

15. Do you have any special talents?
I can get by just upon a smile.
