February Stars #5 - JustSal

Hello ScoFans!

It's time for another February Star as I continue to take it easy and do bugger all. I just write a quick intro and call it a day. It's easy, I'm loving it. Plus it's an excuse to look through all the different versions of February Stars on YouTube, which is also a great job. Even if nobody watches them, I enjoy finding them.

Today's guest blogger is JustSal of Just my thoughts. Again, I'm not going to talk about how great her blogging is, I'm going to let her blogging show you how great it is.

I will say though, this post was emailed to me before Wednesday's post was posted. The fact there are two ScoMan biographies written by my February stars, I think shows what a fascinating topic I really am.

Actually, I think in terms of "posts mentioning" this month, I am on par with bestiality, with both Stephanie and Daisy mentioning bestiality and D* and JustSal mentioning me. OmegaRadium of course, took the high road and decided not to write about anything as crude as bestiality or myself. He did write about Dexter though, which is always a winner in my book.

Enough of me wasting your time. Enjoy the post..

Hello Scofans!!!!!!!!

I’ve always wanted to say that, but I can’t due to the fact that I’m not actually Scoman :( Plus I don’t have Scoman’s genitals either (There's really not enough blogs that mention my genitals- ScoMan). Sometimes we just luck out in life I guess!

Sco has kindly asked me to be a guest blogger, and I leapt at the chance. He does after all have over 100 followers, so it’s an opportunity for me to show you all how witty I am, and just why Sco likes me so much. (Read: I pay him to be my friend) I will then attempt to leech his readers over to my blog also. (I’m all about sharing the blog love.)

When I first thought about what I could write in my guest blogger spot. I though I could do a figjam exposé (it’s French for reveal stuff!) But I thought no, I’m not that fickle. So I thought why don’t we do a little ‘this is your net-life Scoman’ (Some call it second life – I think I prefer Sco-life!) This involved much researching…… well ten minutes, and then I just made it all up! (I believe that's referred to as the "Wikipedia" approach to research - ScoMan) Sco has had a very fulfilling internet life as you are about to read.

Firstly what do we know about the man who refers to himself as Sco?

1) Firstly he allows us to know what he wants us to know – See title of Blog… (thus the majority of this entry is my imagination running overtime)
2) He has grey complexion, oh wait, no that’s just the colour of the photograph.
3) He likes hoods and could be the Unabomber (without the sunnies)
4) He’s a work in progress (so some of the info below may well be true!)
5) He likes to blog
6) He plays Xbox
7) He likes to write sea shanty’s
8) Psychopaths such as Dexter are just ‘part of his crew’
9) His name leads itself to super hero status; I’m thinking his superhero would be the one modelled on Dexter who takes out those who deserve to be taken out. Maybe not saving a cat from a tree so much…. But hey Sco could be a cat person who knows!
10) He has tried and is still attempting to make #rad a tending topic on Twitter with me (justsal) ** Remember people if you tweet and use ‘rad’ in your tweet make sure you hashtag it #Rad

Anyway – lets get into this is your Sco-life Scoman.

Scoman burst onto the internet around the same time as everyone else did, when it kicked off in 1997. He was like all the other ‘cool’ kids and had converted his Commodore 64 (Google it!) and Atari (Google it too!) gaming system into a server hub to allow him to surf the internet with his 25k dial up modem which was lightning fast with Netscape Navigator.

However after a while he upgraded to a ‘real’ computer and bought a 386 with a 56K dialup modem and realised that speed, was more than a white crystal you administered though some form of consumption / inhaling / injection (I don't follow- ScoMan). Speed of a 56k modem could be just as intoxicating as the white crystal, compared to his previous internet speed.

1999 came along and Sco was worried about the Y2k virus getting onto his computer and preventing him from getting on the net so he could do ‘research’ for Uni. (Read: Look at pictures and chat on IRC) So he waited with a bucket near by, a candle in hand and a bottle of water just in case the world imploded. He breathed a sigh of relief when the clock turned from 1999 – 2000 without sending the human race back to the dark ages. Plus the thought of him having to poo in a bucket was well a bit shit!

Skip forward five years and the internet has become even faster ADSL has arrived and Sco gets his ‘cable’ on…. He’s mesmerised that pictures load so fast, that they don’t come down line by line anymore, this just amazes Sco to the point that he ventures out into online gaming consoles and gets himself an Xbox (please note I’ve not bloody idea what year Xbox was released – lets not get pedantic!) Sco is exposed to a world of gaming at a level, that makes original wolfenstien, look well a little bit cheap and Atari like!

Soon Sco conquers the internet with his gaming console and racks up awards after awards in various games, it’s in 2006 he starts blogging (This original blog has now been removed due to national security concerns!) Sco moved his shiny new blog to the sacred land of blogs – Blogspot (no it’s not the name for an acne cream!) and shares his wit and re-worked Tool song lyrics for all us to enjoy.

Blogspot opened up a world for people to admire Sco, which he dubs these aforementioned people as ‘Scofans’ Scofans are those unique individuals with a wicked sense of humour who laugh at dickheads on facebook that Sco likes to bring attention too. Scofans are also intelligent individuals who have impeccable taste in blogs. (Now who's paying who?- ScoMan)

2008 Sco join the Twitter revolution, and expands his Scofan army through this medium. One fan in particular is Justsal, an unknown girl who finds this Scoman quirky and entertaining, thus a life long friendship is created through mutual admiration for various things (She pays him!) However the one thing that truly binds them together like “Shelly’s nomore gaps”, is the fact they are Flashforward buddies. A true partnership like no other, tweeting whilst the show goes out live on Australian TV having one another’s backs so that if one misses a line, the other can let them know what someone just said (It's mostly me having your back, admit it - ScoMan).

So Scofans now you know more about the man behind the Sco. You’re reading this because you’re a fan of his, which is super #Rad and hopefully if you’re got this far you’ve been entertained enough to check my blog out http://justsalsthoughts.blogspot.com/  Gratuitous self promotion.

Thanks for reading.

That’s all I’ve got.

Thanks Sal! One more thing you should all know is that tomorrow is Sal's birthday. And it's also her first day back at Uni. Sucky way to spend your birthday right? Well, make it easier for her by going over there and showing her some blog love.

Go over there, and over there, and then I realise stuff

Hello ScoFans!

First things first, I have a giveaway to mention. He over to Not the Oxygen for your chance to win some very pretty hair.. clip.. type.. things. I'm not sure of their technical name, but they're clips to go in your hair and are pretty.

And guys, as excited as you are by the thought of winning hair clips, there may be an even BETTER prize for you, so don't go signing up just yet. If hair clips aren't your thing, you can elect to enter to win a jar for your Pizza Farts. I don't know what a Pizza Fart is either, but there's a jar with Pizza Fart written on it. It's hilarious, go over to Not the Oxygen and check it out.

Secondly, there are a lot of new readers here. A lot of new commentors on my last post. I have dedicated a good portion of the weekend to trying to get to you all and personally thank you for stopping by, and check out your blogs. So far, I haven't got to all of you. I will keep plugging away at it. I do like to take the time to check out anyone who takes the time to check out all this going on here, but so far I haven't found the time to get to all of you. My bad.

For those of you wondering "What's with all the new followers?", well, it's because I wrote an awesome guest post for "SPEAKING FROM THE CRIB" You can go here to check it out. I know some of you are thinking "Nice try buddy, but I've already clicked once to read your writing. I'm so not clicking again to be linked off somewhere else to read what you have to say", and to you I say, you're missing out. You're missing out on seeing if it's possible to make a tale about bestiality PG-13. What with me being the poster boy of innocence and all things not disgusting, I think if there was a short list of people who would be up to this task, I'd be near the top. At least in the top 50. Anyway, head over there and see if I succeed.

And while you're there, check out her post about her recent attack whilst walking her dog.

So because I've been sending you all over the Internet, because I've spent a lot of time reading blogs this weekend, because I have new followers and this will be a chance for them to learn about me, because I haven't done one of these for a while, and frankly because I can and I want to (and if I don't Stephanie will be ever so disappointed), I'm going to do one of those "meme" things.

This is all about realizing stuff. And not just stuff, but stuff about specific things. Keep reading, you'll see how it works.

1. I've come to realize that my chest-size... is not what it used to be. My manboobs no longer brings the boys to the yard, and rent is getting harder to come up with every fortnight.

2. I've come to realize that my job...would be better if it was more IT stuff and less Accounting stuff. Whatever. It pays the bills.

3. I've come to realize that when I'm driving... I feel superior to everyone around me, and they should all get out of my way, stop doing stupid things and basically being annoying (as opposed to when I'm not driving, and my ego is obviously far more contained)

4. I've come to realize that I need... a llama.

5 I've come to realize that I've lost... my llama.

6. I've come to realize that I hate it when...TV stations don't ring me to personally inform me they are starting the new series of my favourite shows. Thank god I was able to catch up on Dexter on the Internet. (It was only one episode I missed.. whatever, now I'm caught up)

7. I've come to realize that if I'm drunk... I will becoming incredibly annoying and curse a lot. That's why I don't drink.

8. I've come to realize that money... comes and goes. Sometimes it stays awhile, but it'll go later.

9. I've come to realize that certain people...live next door to me, but most people don't. They live in other places.

10. I've come to realize that I'll always... be able to entertain myself.

11. I've come to realize that my sibling(s)... are better people than they were when I was 11.

12. I've come to realize that my mom... is a better person than she was when I was 15.

13. I've come to realize that my cell phone... needs a new message tone.

14. I've come to realize that when I woke up this morning...my right leg was sore so I haven't done any physical activity today.

15. I've come to realize that last night before I went to sleep... I promised myself I was going to go for a long walk to make up for the bad food I ate yesterday.

16. I've come to realize that right now I am thinking...My leg hurts. But I wasn't thinking about that before you bought it up. Before that I think I was thinking about witty answers to write to these questions. Obviously, I didn't come up with anything.

17. I've come to realize that my dad... works hard to show an interest in what I do.

18. I've come to realize that when I get on Facebook... my friends are not as stupid and funny as the people I will bring to you each and every Friday.

19. I've come to realize that today...I have done almost nothing. But I needed that.

20. I've come to realize that tonight...I will be watching episode two of series 4 of Dexter. On the TV this time, which has a bigger screen.

21. I've come to realize that tomorrow... is Monday. But it's my last full week of work before holidays.

22. I've come to realize that I really want to... sleep more.

23. I've come to realize that the person who is most likely to repost this is...Stephanie. Does that count or is hers a "prepost". Repost? I don't know.

24. I've come to realize that life... is good.

25. I've come to realize that this weekend...is almost over. Or do you want me to tell you about next weekend? No, because if you wanted to know about next weekend you'd have asked about next weekend right? Yep. Well this one's nearly over.

26. I've realized the best music to listen to when I am upset... is probably "Fade to Black" by Metallica. If you hear me cranking that, don't talk to me.

27. I've come to realize that my friends... yeah. Whatever happened to those guys? I should give them a call sometime soon.

28. I've come to realize that this year... I have changed a lot as a person, and I'm happy with all of the changes.

29. I've come to realize that my EX... box is a whole lot of fun. Spent a lot of time this weekend playing the Saw game. Awesome.

30. I've come to realize that maybe I should... get all the facts before opening my mouth. That is an excuse to tell you this story.
My brother started this new job and he's like "Did you have a XXXXXX in your level at school?"
"I had about three of them"
"I'm working with this one now and she says she knows you. *Enter his description of XXXXX here*"
"Nup, not ringing any bells"
"Her last name might be ........"
"Nup, don't know her. Obviously I had a far greater impact on her life than she did on mine"
"Don't get too cocky. She thought your name was Brad"

31. I've come to realize that love...for yourself is important. If you love yourself, it doesn't matter if nobody else loves you.

32. I've come to realize that I don't understand... people who seek out or are in relationships.

33. I've come to realize my past... contains a lot of valueable lessons.

34. I've come to realize that parties...are incredibly boring. Everyone's so loud and I can't hear the TV.

35. I've come to realize that I'm totally terrified... someone I know will find this blog.

36. I've come to realize that my life...didn't we already do this? Okay then I've come to realize that my life is fairly repetitive.

37. I have come to realize that I...am becoming a role model for my brothers. And someday, maybe a role model for the world.

That's all there is. I invite you all to give it a try, especially new people so that I can learn a little about you.

Oh, and to everyone who caught last week's post, I decided rather than subject everyone to my horrible singing voice (and, to those who suggested it, to my nakedness as well) I would email my family the song. None of the replied. None of them have mentioned it to me. I think they don't appreciate the lengths I went to.

Until Friday...

England Strikes Back

Hello ScoFans!

For those of you who missed it, PickNic asked me to write a guest post for her which was posted at her blog yesterday. It was a lot of fun and I thank Nic again for giving me the opportunity to entertain the Nicolytes.

Now, for those of you who haven't read the post, click the link above and travel there now. I took the opportunity to write a letter to the Motherland (England), and I may have been a little not nice to them (but it was all in fun)

However, all in fun or not what kind of a person would I be if I didn't give England the opportunity to reply? I think it's only fair. So now, all the way from England, Nic responds to my post...

G'day Mates!

How are things Down Under? Incidentally, how does it feel to be standing upside down your whole life? Don't you get a head rush?

This letter is a response to the one your beloved ScoMan sent to my country. That's England, by the way, for those of you who don't know. So let me start by responding to some of the issues he addressed in his letter.

Firstly...yeah, we're shit at cricket. But so what? If it wasn't for us you wouldn't even have it. We invented the damn game so surely we can play it how we like! And football, we invented that too. Real football. What the hell is 'Aussie Rules Football'? What, you couldn't grasp the actual rules so you made up your own? Do it properly, for Heaven's sake!

And so what if we can't be bothered to have sex all the time? Ok, we may not be able to claim to have invented that, and maybe we do just prefer to have a nice cup of tea and a sit down now and then. But when we bother to do it, we're good at it. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything online to back this statement up, but according to a recent survey (by me) among English women (my friends), British men are the best in the world when it comes to getting jiggy with it. Admittedly, most of us have only slept with British men, but that's not the point. We enjoyed it. For the most part.

Anyway, you love us really. You can't get enough of us. You even use our flag to make up part of yours. So every time you look at it you're reminded that you used to be British. And probably wish you still were.

So you may have better weather and sit around on the beach all day wearing those hats with the corks hanging down while playing a digeridoo, drinking Fosters and cooking shrimps on the barbie (ok, I know that's just a stereotype). But you have to celebrate Christmas during the summer and that's just plain weird. What the hell does Santa wear over there? Shorts and flip-flops? Does he arrive on a surfboard? And the carols...you can't be singing Let it Snow. I'm guessing the weather outside is far from frightful.

And you know what else? You've got some strange animals down there. A duck-billed platypus? What the hell is that thing? It looks like it's come straight out the pages of a fantasy novel. And I wouldn't like to have to check under the bed for stray possums every night before I went to sleep. You've got kangaroos that kick the shit out of each other and creatures that'll kill you as soon as look at you. Deadly snakes and spiders, scorpions, crocodiles, the lot. Even the cute, innocent-looking koalas have chlamydia.

And all those sheep...oh wait, that's New Zealand, not Australia. Not that there's any difference. And that's probably the most offensive thing I've said in the whole of this letter, so I think I'll just stop typing now.

I love a creative challenge (may contain traces of plugging)

I just want to start by saying thank you to everyone who commented on the "backwards post". Especially those of you that took the time to read it. Your kind words and encouragement to try something different have inspired a slightly more twisted idea I will use one day in the future.

Hello ScoFans!

As you learned in the last post, I love a creative challenge. If something is thrown in front of me and I am asked to provide a creative repsonse (or, if I just feel like doing something exceptionally creative) I will enjoy every minute of it.

That's why this week when I was asked to "Analyze This!" a grin crossed my face as the cogs started to tick over. A creative challenge had been thrown before me, and I was ready to accept.

Not only did I accept the challenge, I was successful in the challenge. What did success bring me?

The chance to guest blog at "Insomniac Lolita"

Yes, it will be ScoMan as you've never seen him before. Pretty in pink.

And I would like to thank Andhari for giving me this opportunity. For pulling me out of my comfort zone, and putting me on a whole new stage. She is a great blogger and an excellent stalker.. I'm pretty sure I've seen her hanging around most of your blogs, but if you haven't given her blog a chance yet, head over there now and have a look. I'll wait..

Back? Shall we continue?

Of all of my pets, I am fairly certain Andhari is the second closest to me.. geographically speaking. She is from Indonesia, Australia's "neighbour to the north"

And, because you asked, why yes, I do speak a little Indonesian. I learned it in the last year of primary school and the first year of high school, so we're talking 10-12 years ago. I still remember some phrases, however I'm not 100% sure I can translate or spell them all correctly any more.

But if you're ready for a quick Indonesian lesson, let's go!
Siapa nama kamu? - What is your name?
Apa kabar? - How are you?
Kabar baik - I think this means like "fine" or "Not good but not bad".. or, I guess "Meh"
Baik baik saja - Good, thank you
Ayo!- I think this means "Go!" It was the title of one of my text books.

That is all I remember right now. Besides, this blog wasn't supposed to be focused on being an Indonesian lesson.. it's an Italian lesson as well. Yes, when I gave up Indonesian I studied Italian for 3 years.. care to see some of what I remember there?
Apri la porta - This means open or close the window or door. I can't remember. It is one of those four things. Safe to say that if I was in Italy and the police were banging on the door saying "Apri la porta!".. I wouldn't be closing a window. I'd work it out.
Crepa, pezzo di merda, e vai, a sucare cazzi su un aereo! - Die, piece of shit, and go sucking dicks on a plane! (okay, I learnt this one from the Tool song "Message to Harry Manback")

But that's enough about my incredible multi language speaking ability. Seriously though I don't remember enough of either of them now to hold a conversation in either one. I'm sure if I picked up a book to teach myself the language it would all come back to me, and maybe someday I'll do that. But not today.

Back to the topic at hand. I am going to suggest again heading over to Andhari's blog (for those of you who didn't before) and perhaps reading this great album review for a band with hit tracks such as "You Speak Prada?", "I'm Hotter Than Your Woman" and "Party In Whose Pants?". Or you could kick things off on the right foot by making sure you don't get the wrong ideas about her. Or you could just check out the whole damn thing.

The important thing is that you follow it, add it to your reader, subscribe to the feed.. do whatever it is you to do stay updated on a blog, so that when my guest post appears you're ready for it.

You see, this is a chance for you to ask yourself an important question... are you my follower who will follow me wherever I may blog? Or are you my pet who will stand obediently by this blog and protect it in my absence.

I say follow me to Insomniac Lolita, and even after my guest appearance has been and gone continue following her blog. It's worth it.

Oh, and while I'm bragging about my creative challenge accomplishments, has anyone checked out 20something bloggers March Carnival Round up?

Yes, there I am again.

And seeing as this blog is about MY creative challenge accomplishments, a thought occurs to me. How would you like to take on a creative challenge?

Because, I offered you something when I hit 100 blogs, however by blogging elsewhere it won't count towards my blog count.

So what do I do? How do I make my blog count include a blog that's done elsewhere?

I don't.

I make it include a blog that somebody else does here.

So, if you would like to guest post on "A Name in Your Recollection" (did I mention it has featured as one of the top submissions in a 20SB blog carnival? I did? Oh, sorry) I am going to ask you to do two things:
1/ Head over to Andhari's blog and read one of her posts. Leave her a comment to show you were there. You'll enjoy it, and thank me later. (this will also catch those of you who still haven't gone. Now you've been forced to if you want to take up this opportunity.)
2/ In exactly 25 words, encourage me to choose you. You can encourage me however you wish. You can suck up to me. You can promote your blogging skills. You can make me laugh. You can give me the first 25 words of what you would post to leave me wanting more. You can threaten me. You can plead with me.

It's up to you. Just leave your comment with quotation marks around the words you want as your entry.

Oh, and remember, next time I blog will be at Insomniac Lolita. I hope to see you all there!
